My story

Belgian harpist Olivia Debrabandere began her music studies at the age of six at the Roeselare Music School. At ten, she decided to pursue the harp. After completing her bachelor's degree with Agnès Clement and Emma Wauters at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, Belgium, Olivia continued her studies in Germany at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts with Professor Cristina Bianchi. She now performs as a freelance harpist with renowned orchestras.

She was selected as a young talent for the Arte Amanti chamber music festival, won the soloist prize at the 'Harpe Diem Concours' in 2019 and the prize for the best performance of the commissioned work Magellan by Vincent Ghadimi at the 'International Harp Competition Felix Godefroid' in 2022.

As a soloist, she has performed with the Munich-Andechs Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent Symphony Orchestra, and the Harmonie Sint-Cecilia Rumbeke. She plays regularly with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and has also performed with the Südwestfalen Philharmonic, the Ulm State Theater, the Augsburg State Theater, the Lower Bavaria State Theater, the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra, the Immling Opera Festival, and several productions at Munich's smallest opera house.
